What is the Extreme Mustang Makeover?

Created and presented by the Mustang Heritage Foundation, the purpose of the Extreme Mustang Makeover competition is to showcase the beauty, versatility, and trainability of American mustangs. Mustangs competing in these events are wild mares and geldings, typically four to seven years old, that have been living in BLM corrals. Approved trainers are paired with a mustang and spend approximately 100 days preparing for classes that will showcase the mustang’s new skills. At the conclusion of the event, all mustangs are available for adoption or purchase via public competitive bid.

Colton Woods

Colton is an evolving horseman who is dedicated to teaching his students a progressive horsemanship approach built on practical application and understanding of the horse on a mental, physical, emotional and spiritual level.

Colton has a deep passion for bringing together the similarities and uniqueness, which both Dressage and the Vaquero Bridle Horse traditions have to offer. He is continually pushing himself personally and professionally to develop his own understandings, insights, and skill sets to help better serve the horses and humans that he is blessed to work with. Whether he’s working a green colt or coaching a seasoned professional, Colton’s dynamic, introspective, holistic, and consistently evolving approach to horse and human education is sure to leave you inspired, more knowledgeable and wanting more.
