After George's successful trailer loading session with our 2-horse step-up, his owner let us know that her trailer is a straight-load with a ramp. In this video, Colton works George through a simulation exercise to prepare him for loading confidently into the straight-load trailer with a ramp.
Watch George master his first trailer loading session with Colton since arriving for training. This is the first time that he has been asked to load into the trailer with a halter and lead rope. Prior to this, he has only been loaded at liberty in the round pen.
Colton and George head outside to practice ground work over varying terrain to help George increase his proprioception and build more confidence in himself.
Colton trailer loads George while he is loose in the round pen to help him develop his understanding of the work that they've completed in the first week and develop his confidence with working in and out of the horse trailer.
Colton begins to introduce new foundational concepts to George's education now that he is moving forward more freely and staying softer throughout his entire body.
Colton works with George in the round pen with the goal of allowing George to take responsibility for his movement and begin focusing on more subtle cues as his understanding of the foundation work increases.
Colton continues to work with George in his understanding of round pen and ground work to prepare him for trailer loading. As his softness in hte halter continues to improve, Colton works to help George understand and build confidence with the horsemanship flag and various exercises that challenge him to think before moving his body.

Meet George, a 10 year old Oldenburg gelding standing at over 18h! George joined CWH to help him overcome his issues with trailer loading. Today is his first session with Colton, and they are focusing on basic round pen and ground work fundamentals to help George gain confidence and understanding.
